The Lyness Group were very proud to receive recognition as Investors in People Champions, an achievement announced by Minister For Skills Phil Hope in London on 3rd November 2005.
The Champion programme recognises those employers who have boosted the performance of their businesses through the way they manage and develop their employees. The Lyness Group, consisting of Lyness Accountancy Practice, Business Growth Resources and LAP Bureau join a total of 23 other firms nationwide in holding the prestigious award.
Also included amongst the 8 new Champions this year are household names like Thomson Directories and Prudential UK. All champions have demonstrated consistent commitment to people development as a way of delivering their organisational goals now and in the future.
What is a Champion?
Champions are Investors in People UK's partners in promoting the Standard, maximising learning and continuous improvement to raise performance. Champions have been selected through an in-depth evaluation process. All Champions have been evaluated against Champion criteria through an external sifting process.
What is the Champion Programme?
The Champion programme is about:
recognising and rewarding: those organisations who have been outstanding in promoting the values and principles of Investors in People and who have led by example in the way they manage their people.
sharing and learning: to encourage the sharing and dissemination of good practice in people management and development to maximise learning, support continuous improvement and raise performance.
championing the standard: to encourage organisations to be more proactive in championing the standard and stimulating demand with customers and suppliers.
How long is Champion status for?
Champion status is for 3 years commencing from when the National Champion Awarding Panel met on the 10th October 2005 to 10th October 2008. You can apply to continue being a Champion after this point but would need to go through the Champion nomination process again.
