| The Best of the Black Country 2005 Customer Services Award was presented to Lyness Accountancy Practice by Lord Sebastion Coe at the prestigious awards dinner held at Dunstall park on Thursday 24th November.
The Customer Services category was particularly hard fought with judges only being able to whittle the entries down to a short list of four rather than the usual three.
When Oldbury firm Lyness Accountancy Practice were declared the winner the team from the company could scarcely believe their good fortune.
Business owner Roy Lyness said "I am delighted and stunned. We were hoping and we knew we were in with a chance, but now we have won I can hardly believe it."
Operations director Sue Lyness paid particular tribute to the firm's director of first impressions, Dianne Flavell for her role as first point of contact for customers.
The firm has come a long way since Roy began in 1993 with a desk, a telephone and no clients, in fact Lyness Accountancy Practice now employs 9 people.
And customer service is seen as key to the continuous success of the business.
"We have worked hard on our customer service because if we don't look after our customers someone else will" said Roy "Your business is your people and your customers, if you have good customers you have a good business."
Lyness' Black Country triumph came just a few weeks after the firm was recognised as one of the UK's elite firms by Investors in People.
The Practice is one of only 8 firms this year and 25 overall nationwide to have been awarded Champions status |
